OPEN FORUM EVERY TUESDAY 2pm-3pm
This is a weekly forum open to anyone and is a general access point for people wanting to engage with us and move their lives forward. We start with a check-in about how we’re feeling then straight onto the agenda that comprises of information and opportunities. This is chaired by a volunteer who sits on a committee with paid staff and other volunteers who have taken on higher levels of responsibility. The Open Forum is different each week in its content as it reflects the fluidity of Pushing Change.
The agenda will be made up of recent news, upcoming projects, volunteering, education and accredited training opportunities inside Pushing Change and elsewhere in the community. We also have guest speakers from the wider community and people from other services who wish to do a presentation because of the large audience we attract. We average about 35 people in the Forum and people benefit through identification with other peers with similar issues, becoming empowered via practical information and taking on responsibility in a supported way.
“Attending the PUSHING CHANGE forum for the first time was a very nerve wracking experience but essential for me to build relationships in the community and to find out what was available for me to get involved with”. Male ANON
We do not operate an abstinence policy so you can attend and get involved regardless if you’re still using drink and/or drugs, are on a maintenance script or in treatment. However, we do ask that for the safety and benefit of PUSH members that you do not attend the forum while intoxicated
If you would like to get involved with PUSHING CHANGE, then our forum is the place to start.
